The UNP/Hartland Partnership Center is looking for applicants for a Youth Center Coordinator and we need your help in finding the right person!

There are three coordinators who work together to coordinate the Center: a Parent Coordinator, a University Coordinator and a Student Coordinator.  While they share many of the same responsibilities day-to-day, each person also has a unique roll that contributes to the UNP community.  This position is for the Student Coordinator and is generally filled by someone who is in college, has recently finished or is working towards their pathway to higher education.  This person will also be fluent in Spanish and English and have  a strong background in youth programming and project coordination.

Job Summary Coordinate youth center partnership activities, while acting as the liaison between the Youth Center and other partnerships. Maintain and communicate schedule of partnership activities/contact information. Represent the Youth Center at key meetings,Youth Center Meetings-coordinator/facilitator. Residents Committee, UNP Staff, Hartland Coordinators, local school meetings.

Partnership Development: focus areas. Support the development of partnerships that focus on the teen population, generally and Latino(a)s, specifically
– Maintain Youth Center Safety Documentation
– Youth rolls, sign-in and out database, registration and contact sheets, center rules.
– Daily on-site coordination of Center-Open and close the Center and be on-site while it is open.
– Manage the computer lab use. Answer phones, check mail and maintain equipment.
– Monitor supply needs and coordinate with UNP/Hartland Coordinator for ordering.

Responsibilities – Interest and experience in community and youth development
– Proficient in English and Spanish
– Experience and desire to work with youth (teens, specifically) and their families in a dynamic neighborhood setting
– Able to commit to a one-year position
– Interest in working with a variety of university and community partners
– Active interest in educational and social equity
– Motivated by collaborative work efforts
– Strong organizational and communication skills (phone, email, word and excel)

Minimum Qualifications Six years related experience in assigned areas or equivalency; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required. Bachelor’s degree in a related area is preferred.
