First Step House is hiring a full-time, master’s level clinician. This position involves providing direct clinical services for clients suffering from substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. These services include individual sessions, life-skills classes, group therapy sessions, and case management services
Job Duties
• Coordination of all clinical aspects of a client’s treatment from intake/admission through discharge.
• Treatment planning and review within the frame work of the American Society of Addiction Medicine Patient Placement Criteria (ASAM-PPC-2R).
• Conducting individual and group substance abuse counseling, life skills education, and mental health therapy
• Coordination of services between multiple entities such as client’s family members, courts, and probation officers.
• Must possess intermediate knowledge of therapeutic techniques including – at minimum – those used in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing
• Ability to engage clients with evidence-based practices in order to assist them in ultimately overcome identified difficulties and issues
• Must understand legal and ethical codes relevant to field of practice as well as the agency
• Must understand basic behavioral health billing practices and possess basic knowledge of analog and digital behavioral health record keeping systems
• Must be able to document client interactions accurately using clinical language
• Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills (listening, oral and written)
• Must possess excellent problem solving and decision making skills
• Must be a self-starter and internally motivated to achieve department and personal objectives
• Ability to handle confidential client information legally and ethically
• Ability to effectively present information to top management and employees
• Ability to use office and computer equipment and use related software MS Office Suite & Excel
• Active license with the State of Utah as: ACMHC, CMHC, CSW, LCSW, LMFT or LAMFT.
• Full licensure and supervisor experience preferred
• Previous experience in dealing with substance abuse and legally-involved individuals preferred
