|Job Summary||Postdoctoral Fellow in Translational Behavioral Health, Substance Abuse, & Criminal Justice Research
The University of Utah College of Social Work and Utah Criminal Justice Center are seeking postdoctoral fellows in translational behavioral health, substance abuse, and criminal justice research. Fellows will assist in Federally-funded research; faculty at the University of Utah College of Social Work are currently conducting research projects funded by NIH-National Institute of Drug Abuse, National Institute on Justice, the National Science Foundation, the Department of Defense, and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Ongoing projects include randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of mindfulness-based interventions for stress-related conditions and addiction, as well as RCTs of restorative justice interventions for violent criminal offenders and other interventions designed to prevent recidivism.
|Responsibilities||Postdoctoral fellows will assist with the following duties: a) manuscript preparation from existing datasets; b) clinical and/or psychophysiological data collection; c) data analysis; d) study coordination; and e) designing and implementing new translational research studies.
Postdoctoral fellows will have opportunities to coauthor multiple scientific articles from existing primary datasets, as well as to write Federal grants and conduct new research studies, leveraging the resources and interdisciplinary connections of the College of Social Work, which extend into Psychiatry, Psychology, Oncology, Public Health, Anesthesiology, Neuroscience, Family Medicine, Law, and Nursing, among other departments. Seed monies will be available for the fellow’s pilot research studies.
