Drug Court Substance Use Disorder Counselor

Works under the general supervision of the County Attorney and the administrative and clinical supervision of the Drug Court Treatment Provider.

Works as a member of the Kane County Drug Court Team. Assists the Drug Court Treatment provider in the delivery of the drug court treatment program. Coordinates with other associated entities (DFSC, Voc Rehab, Workforce Services, Adult Education, etc.) for the delivery of services. Assists in conducting evaluations and assessments. Facilitates or co-facilitates client education, behavioral management groups, skill development and cognitive/behavioral groups. Conducts individual and family drug and alcohol counseling and education services for Drug Court clients and their family members. Ensures prompt collection and entry of therapeutic and case management data. Assists in other case management responsibilities. Primarily responsible for reporting on clients’ therapeutic progress at the Drug Court Team weekly staffing.

Requires a Bachelors Degree in a related field and must be licensed or certified Substance Use Disorder Counselor or Substance Abuse Counselor, or an equivalent masters or higher degree. Three years of experience is preferred.

This is a fulltime position with competitive benefits starting at an hourly wage of $17.09-$19.78. Criminal back ground check must be passed as a condition of employment. Probationary period is also required. This is a three year grant funded position with the possibility of continued employment after that.
