Job Title: Director of Residential Services
Job Description: Outstanding opportunity to direct Utah’s oldest and largest domestic violence shelter, and transitional housing for single women and women with children. Responsibilities include program leadership and management of 24-hour operations, residential staff education and supervision, and collaboration with community partners. Enrich daily services dedicated to women and children leaving abusive relationships. Supervise dedicated staff that provides 24-hour oversight to shelter and housing residents. Work closely with other program directors to ensure family and clinical perspective is included in 24 hour operations and service delivery. Provide administrative, and staff supervision while promoting excellence, accountability, affirmation, and integrity in all services and activities. An exceptional candidate would have superb communication and interpersonal skills, have sound understanding of trauma and a background in residential operations, be a skilled and thoughtful manager, be client-focused in practice and able to manage crisis and juggle many roles well, and have the ability to lead, motivate and train staff to accomplish client-centered program goals Excellent opportunities for professional growth, leadership development, and community impact as we begin a new phase of service delivery on our expanded campus.
Develop and manage all residential services at the YWCA.
Coordinate direct services including advocacy, and internal residential community relations.
Provide daily management of staff and 24/7 residential operations.
Implement best practice-based program philosophies, goals, strategies, and outcome measurement protocols.
Provide guidance, support, and team building opportunities that ensure program staff understand and support the mission, vision, values, and strategic goals of the departments and the agency.
Help develop the annual departmental budget and monitor expenditures to remain within budgetary goals.
Develop and maintain knowledge of the data management system to accurately track data and produce required reports.
Articulate and promote high ethical standards in all YWCA programs, activities, and services, and with all public agencies.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with YWCA staff and any other organizations and individuals important to the success of the YWCA’s work.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Committed to the YWCA mission.
Masters Degree in Social Work or related field preferred. Bachelors required.
3-5 years of experience in residential services oversight preferred, including working with populations with a history of trauma, violence against women, or child abuse.
Superb administrative skills, including management experience of clinical teams.
Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to create effective working relationships with YWCA staff, volunteers, and community partners.
Outstanding program management experience including planning, training, implementation, and outcome evaluation. Strong supervisory and team development skills.
Commitment to program excellence and accountability.
Able to model strengths-based, empowering, respectful behavior.
Team player. Must be able to contribute significantly to an agency-wide team approach and work well across programs and departments.
Must be flexible and able to work evenings, as well as weekends as needed, and participate in an on-call rotation.
Ability to relate positively to people of diverse ages, races, ethnicity, nationalities, socio-economic levels, beliefs and lifestyles.
Valid Utah driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and motor vehicle check (if required).
Reports to: Chief Program Officer
Hours: Full time, exempt, some evenings and weekends required
Salary: DOE plus benefits and an excellent retirement plan
