Important Information: The successful applicant will work in partnership with a physical therapist from the University of Utah Faints and Falls Clinic.

Applicants must have the ability to travel to various senior center locations throughout Salt Lake County.


  • May work up to 1,560 hours per calendar year.
  • Are not eligible for County benefits except as otherwise provided for by policy.
  • Are not considered merit employees; they are “at will” employees who may be terminated for any reason, without notice, and without a pre-termination hearing.
Position Description: JOB SUMMARY

Provides county-wide health promotion and risk reduction information and educational programs for older adults.


Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Health Education, Public Health, or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.


  • Develops, conducts, coordinates, analyzes and evaluates health education training programs.
  • Conducts studies, needs assessment and research regarding health promotion and risk reduction.
  • Develops and prepares required reports and data documents.
  • Creates marketing materials and promotes communication and media relations.
  • Accomplishes desired participation at educational activities by distribution of marketing materials in a timely manner.
  • Works with volunteers and staff members to ensure an understanding of activities, policies and procedures.
  • As assigned, acts as a representative of Aging Services and the Active Aging program.
  • Works one-on-one with older adults as a gatekeeper, ambassador, and health coach.
