The University of Nevada, Reno invites applications to fill a senior faculty position at the rank of either Associate or Full Professor (Tenured) in the School of Social Work. This is a nine-month, academic faculty position. We seek applicants with a strong research, scholarship and federal grantsmanship background in child welfare, aging, behavioral health or health disparities. Leadership shown in directing research centers or doctoral programs will be considered favorably. The successful candidate will be expected to have an established research agenda and will continue and sustain an externally-funded research program. She/he will also be expected to teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels, mentor faculty members to enhance research productivity and participate in School, Division, University and Professional service activities.
The School of Social Work is part of the University’s Division of Health Sciences, and provides extensive opportunities for interprofessional collaborations in teaching and research with faculty at the School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Community Health Sciences, Sanford Center for Aging and the Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies. The School currently offers BSW and MSW degrees and has over 280 students attending the program coming from diverse backgrounds.

Required Qualification: A doctorate in social work or related field; Master of Social Work (MSW) from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE); and at least two years of post MSW practice experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong publication record; a record of externally-funded research; extensive university teaching experience; and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusivity and equal opportunity.
