The University of Nevada, Reno Sanford Center for Aging (SCA) has an exciting opportunity for a doctoral-level social worker to contribute to the development of an innovative new comprehensive geriatric clinic. SCA is recruiting an Associate Director for Community and Social Services. This leadership position will work with the SCA Director and clinic Medical Director to plan, launch and staff a new interdisciplinary geriatric clinic being developed by the UNR Division of Health Sciences. Responsibilities within the clinic will include leading comprehensive psychosocial assessment, service planning, community referrals, and navigation services (i.e., care coordination) serving elders across Northern Nevada. The position also entails the individual preparing grant proposals and taking a leadership in clinical research activities. Critical to success will be the individual’s ability to engage with a wide range of community partners who will be collaborating with the Center. Additionally, as part of the SCA leadership team, this individual will provide direction to the portfolio of community outreach programs offered by SCA and supervises three project coordinators as direct reports. Finally, this individual will also teach gerontology-relevant courses within the School of Social Work, University of Nevada, Reno. The Associate Director reports to the Director of SCA and will collaborate with the Director of the School of Social Work regarding teaching responsibilities (with an adjunct or clinical appointment in the School of Social Work).
Required qualifications: Doctoral Degree in Social Work from a regionally accredited institution and two years of experience in leading the psycho-social assessment, planning, and community referrals as part of a gerontology or geriatric clinic team. Experience in teaching and supervising students.
