Director, Carmen B. Pingree Center for Learning – Salt Lake City, Utah

The Carmen B. Pingree Center for Learning, a state of the art learning center that serves individuals with Autism, Autism Spectrum Disorders and Mental Health is seeking a director. Reporting to the COO of Valley Behavioral Health, the new director will need to be progressive, strategic and skilled at meeting the needs of the center and the organization as well as multiple stakeholders. We are looking to expand services to adolescents and adults and adding a home based ABA service line. Qualified candidates will have the following skills and credentials.

• Clinical license in Utah (if out of state, have approval of license/reciprocity in writing)
• BCBA Certification (Preferred)
• Undergraduate and graduate studies in Social Work, Psychology, or other related field plus at least 10 years of experience related to the delivery of excellent clinical services with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity
• Autism administrative experience (program and school setting experience)
• Evidence-based curriculum development (behavioral curriculum and academic curriculum)
• Demonstrated experience and leadership in behavior management, applied behavior analysis and discrete trials
• Experience working with different age groups
• Experience with inclusion strategies
• Maintain the integrity of the current program and make systematic changes
• Up-to-date with treatment methods and research
• Ability to demonstrate skill sets (modeling) to staff and provide ongoing training
• Great interpersonal skills, friendly, encouraging, positive and able to work with employees
• Skilled at communicating effectively with various audiences (staff, parents, stakeholders, etc)
• Ability to work within the autism community and form/build/maintain strategic partnerships
• Able to prioritize needs
• Knowledge of federal, state and local laws/regulations affecting autism, mental health and related center operations
• Skilled in media interactions and participating in legislative processes to promote autism awareness and the center’s concerns
• Skilled at vision and mission development, long range planning, and execution of strategic plan goals within set timeframes
• Skilled in creating and monitoring budgets
• Proficient with technology and its application in treatment, data collection, outcomes, etc
• Be a good educator, present ideas with clarity, and set clear expectations for staff
• Present a 6 month plan for deliverables, including curriculum development and staff training
