Job Summary: Park City Municipal is accepting applications for a part-time contract Victim Advocate Coordinator (VAC). This position is under the direction of the Chief of Police through the designated Police Captain of Operations. This position will provide services and information to victims of violent crimes. The VAC will collaborate with various agencies to provide safeguarding measures for victims through the Utah State Courts, advocacy services, crisis intervention, city attorney’s office, assistance with community referrals; such as medical aid, counseling, alternative housing, emergency financial assistance and other related victim protection services as assigned. This position will supervise and provide adequate training to victim advocate volunteers.
Qualifications: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Social or Behavioral Science preferred. A substitution of prior work-related experience of two to three years will be accepted. This position will be required to work non-traditional hours for police call-outs that may include evenings, weekends and holidays. Applicant must have good verbal and written communication abilities and computer skills. Applicant should have prior experience with grant writing. Applicant must be professional and maintain victim information in a confidential manner.
